Zachary Baltzer

Baltzer, Zachary J. SUN PRAIRIE Zachary J. Baltzer, age 24, died unexpectedly on Sunday, June 8, 2008. He was born on Oct. 15, 1983, in Madison, the son of Bernadette DiMaggio-Baltzer and John Baltzer. Zac was a graduate of Sun Prairie High School and attended the Illinois Institute of Art, Chicago. Zac lived life to the fullest. His first love was his family and his dogs, Buster, Tanner, and Charlie. Zac had many talents; he had a gift for cooking, was an excellent fashion designer, a passionate artist, and was an accomplished athlete. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed cycling, boating, racing, running marathons, and just hanging at the beach with all his friends. When it came to his work, Zac was very passionate about working with his uncle, Greg as general manager of Campus Cars. Zac had a free spirit and a heart of gold and would do anything to make those around him feel special. He will be greatly missed by all. He is survived by his parents; three siblings, Garrett (age 22), Nakhanh (age 14), and Tam (age 12); maternal grandfather, Joseph DiMaggio; many aunts and uncles, Jean Brindley and family, Sandy Harris and family, Darcy Little and family, Suzzane Sibole and family, Joseph DiMaggio and family, Rosalie Haas and family, Mary DiMaggio and family, Michele Nelson and family, Chuck DiMaggio and family, Lucia DiMaggio and family, Jean Trainor and family, Monica Mountford and family, Mark DiMaggio and family, Greg DiMaggio and family, Audrey Fiore and family, and Tricia DiMaggio-Zander and family; and more than 50 cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John and Coty Baltzer; maternal grandmother, Audrey DiMaggio; uncle, Paul DiMaggio; and cousin Jeff Brindley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, 221 Columbus St., Sun Prairie, on Friday, June 13, 2008, at 11 a.m., with Monsignor Duane Moellenberndt presiding. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, on Thursday, June 12, 2008, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., and on Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. With tearful eyes we mourn you, as we knew you passed away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
