Gene Kennedy

Kennedy, Gene A. MADISON Gene Armond Kennedy, age 83, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2008, at St. Marys Hospital. He was born on Aug. 11, 1924, in Mason City, Iowa, the son of Clarence and Jessie (Skellenger) Kennedy. Gene graduated from Madison East High School in 1942. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Air Force as a sergeant. Gene retired from Madison Kipp as a machinist for 44 years. Gene loved spending time with friends at Dairyland Restaurant. He was a member of the Monona Senior Center and the Community Christian Church. Gene is survived by his mother, Jessie Kennedy of Madison; brother, Phillip (Sylvia) Kennedy of Stoughton; sister, Gretchen Munger of Cedar Falls, Iowa; nephews, Gary Kennedy and David Kennedy; niece, Barb (Tom) Bollig; great-niece, Shelby Bollig; and great-nephew, Tim Kennedy. He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Kennedy. Funeral services will be held at COMMUNITY CHRISTIAN CHURCH, 5020 Maher Ave., Madison, on Thursday, May 29, 2008, at 11 a.m, with Pastor Bob Lawrence presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. The family would like to thank St. Marys Urgent Care staff and his friends at Dairyland Restaurant for the care and friendship they have shown Gene and Jessie.
