Lyle Ekleberry

Ekleberry, Lyle W. MADISON Lyle W. Ekleberry, age 84, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at the HospiceCare Center, surrounded by his family. He was born on Aug. 27, 1923, in Richland County, on the family farm at Ekleberry Corners, the son of Jay and Zelpha (Briggs) Ekleberry. Lyle attended Ekleberry Corners Grade School and graduated from Viola High School. He married Jo Ann Groves on Sept. 18, 1948, in Viroqua. Together they farmed until moving to Madison in 1960. Lyle then worked for the University of Wisconsin - Madison for 25 years. He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann of Madison; son, Jay (Irene) of Madison; grandson, Blair; sister, Lois Wanless of Richland Center; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. Lyle was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Leland; and sister, Norma. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2450 Atwood Ave., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2008, with Monsignor Michael Hippee presiding. Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park.
