Rita Nonn

Nonn, Rita A. MIDDLETON Rita A. Nonn, age 85, passed away on Friday, May 16, 2008. She was born on April 30, 1923, in the Ashton area, the daughter of John H. and Anna Marie (Bollenbeck) Ziegler. Rita was united in marriage to Alfred Nonn on June 7, 1947. She had a variety of interests including housekeeping, tending her rose bushes, embroidery and crocheting. She crocheted afghans for all of her family and also for nursing homes, but she treasured most the time spent with her family. She was a long time member of St. Bernards Catholic Church and of its Christian Mothers Society. In addition to her husband Alfred, of 60 years, she is survived by four sons, Marvin (Vicki), Michael, Melvin (Lori) and Marcel (Betty), nine grandchildren, Kristofer, Amy, Tracy, Kari, Kristy, Holly, Sara, Kelsey, and Jacob; a sister, Erna (Norbert) Esser; in laws, Rosaline Nonn and Betty (Harold) Reible and a dear friend, Joyce (Roger) Schumann. Rita was preceded in death by her grandson, Cory Nonn and her siblings, Pauline (Edward) Brabender, Alphonse (Elizabeth) Ziegler, Paul (Marie) Ziegler, Bertha, Hilda (Roman) Schmitz, Agatha, Ida (Edmund) Hensen, Lydia (Eugene) Treinen, Emil (Agnes) Ziegler and Edna (Anton) Maier. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BERNARDS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7450 University Ave., Middleton at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 19, 2008, with Monsignor Douglas Dushack presiding. Burial will be in St. Bernards Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Ave., Middleton from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, 2008, where a Scripture service will begin at 2:45 p.m. Friends may also call on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. God and His people saw that Rita worked to her fullest for her family, friends, and God Himself. When the time came that she could not fulfill her earthly duties, God saw this and said, Come home and continue your work in the house and family I have made in heaven here for you.
