Obituary

Aldworth, Max MADISON Max Aldworth, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, May 23, 2008. He was born on Sept. 7, 1924, the son of Lillie and Fred Aldworth. He was married to his high school sweetheart Phyllis "Pep" Pepin on June 14, 1946, and shared almost 62 years of blessed marriage. In 1943, he joined the service and served with the 8th Air Force, flying many missions over Germany. After returning from the service Max operated his own filling station. As it took too much time away from family and fishing, he went to work for the U.S. Post Office as a mail carrier for 30 years. Max loved to read, bowl, golf, and hunt but by far his greatest past time was fishing, summer or winter. The last 22 summers were spent at the family trailer in Boulder Junction. Max is survived by his wife, Pep; four children, Dan (Connie) Aldworth, Joe (Kathy) Aldworth, Jane (John) Rodriguiez, Jill (Jim) Lewis; eight grandchildren, Beth, Rachel, Max, Ted, Kelly, Karly, Rod and Peter; two great-grandchildren, Casey and Cooper. His son, Ted Aldworth, at seven years of age, preceded him in death; as did his parents; and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at LAKE EDGE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 4032 Monona Dr., Monona, on Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Richard Blomker and the Rev. Shirley Funk officiating. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, on Monday, May 26, 2008, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and also at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lake Edge Lutheran Church or HospiceCare. One of Maxs words in his dying days was that "Everything is wonderful" and the day before he died he made the statement "Wonderful, God and mother nature have everything under control."
