Obituary

Odegaard, Norman C. MADISON Norman C. Odegaard, age 71, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2008, at Meriter Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born on Jan. 29, 1937, in Madison, the son of Clifford and Grace (Davis) Odegaard. He graduated from Madison East High School in 1955 and was a member of the National Honor Society. Norm later graduated from Madison Business College. He traveled as an independent auditor for many years throughout Wisconsin and Michigan. Later he worked as an accountant for Transitional Housing Inc. (THI) and Madison Area Urban Ministry (MUM). In 2003 Norm received certificates of appreciation from both THI and MUM for all of his years of hard work and dedication. Upon retirement he volunteered his services to Porchlight. Norm is survived by his brother, Larry (Bev) Odegaard of Cottage Grove; sister, Nancy (Ron) Westrum of Madison; nieces and nephews, Eric Odegaard, Amy (Kent) Nimocks, Brian (Karen) Odegaard, Scott Westrum and Terry (Jennifer) Westrum; and great-nieces, Grace and Claire Odegaard. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Scholfield St., Monona, on Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at 9:30 a.m. with Father John Meinholz presiding. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, on Tuesday, May 13, 2008, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Meriter Hospital Emergency Services, 7th floor tower and ICU for all their support and care of Norm and his family
