DeWitte, Ellen Christine MADISON Ellen Christine DeWitte, age 65, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 17, 2008, surrounded by her family at St. Marys Hospital, after a long and courageous battle with diabetes. She was born on July 8, 1942, in Madison, to Henry and Gretta DeWitte. Ellen was a dedicated English and Spanish teacher for 40 years in the Oconto Falls, Waterloo and Deerfield School Districts. She loved flower gardening and spending time with her nieces and nephews on their "$100 dates". Her family brought great joy and love to her life. Ellen is survived by her dear sister, Agnes (Glenn) Ripley of Manitowish Waters; her beloved niece and nephew, Becky (Dave) Shefchik of Verona and Dan Ripley of Prairie du Sac; her great niece and nephew, whom she cherished, Betsy (Nick Dachniwskyj) Oasen and Cody Oasen; and her loving friends, especially, Kay, Art, Linda, Axel and baby Mo. She was preceded in death by her parents. A celebration of Ellens life will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, May 21, 2008. Burial will be at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2008. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the St. Marys ER and Cardiac ICU staff for their compassionate care and support. B.O.A. forever Hantie.

Becky - I am sure you do not remember me, but I know how happy it made your Aunt when you visited her in Oconto Falls and how proud she was of you. (I was the high school secretary) It was a shock when Bette Brown called to let us know of her passing. Our condolences to you and your family.
