Obituary

Hollis, Lynda S. MADISON Lynda S. Hollis left her worldly body and set her spirit free on Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at the Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center in Fitchburg. She was 59 years old. Lynda was born on Sept. 28, 1948, in Madison, to Ernest and Viola (West) Johnson. They preceded her in death. Lynda worked for many years in retail on Madisons East side, including the former Sentry on East Washington Avenue and at Shopko on Shopko Drive. Most recently, she worked in food service for the Madison Metropolitan School District. Lynda loved spending time with her family and many friends, including her special friends at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7591. Lynda especially enjoyed her yearly Vegas trip and her yearly Chetek trip. She also enjoyed supporting her beloved Green Bay Packers. Lynda is survived by her daughter, Denise Hollis of Madison, and children, Amanda and John; and son, Brian (Amyra) Hollis of Wadsworth, Ohio, and children, Jessenia and Malik. Lynda is also survived by her siblings, Marge "Udgie" Skolaski, Ernest "Sonny" (Shirley) Johnson, Beverly (Chuck) Porter, Betty (Joe) Gervasi, and Dianne (Jerry) McIntyre; the father of her children, Darrell Hollis; and many loved nieces and nephews. Lynda was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Ed Skolaski; and special friend, David Jacobson. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at noon on Friday, May 9, 2008, with Monsignor Douglas Dushack presiding. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. Memorials may be made in Lyndas name to HospiceCare Inc., 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Fitchburg, WI 53711 or V.F.W. Post No. 7591, 301 Cottage Grove Road, Madison, WI 53716. The family would like to thank the staff at HospiceCare Inc. for the wonderful loving care they provided during the last days of her life. We love you Mom/Grandma!

To the familly of Lynda, She was a great person Lynda and Darrell took care of my dad ray johnson for years and i was shock. I loved her as my aunt have not seen her for years but took care of my dad. Love to hear from Darrell and my deepest sympathy. Love, Tina Johnson Ripp
