Ruth Beck

Beck, Ruth STOUGHTON Ruth Beck, age 84 of Stoughton, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2008, at HospiceCare, Inc. after a courageous battle with lung cancer. She was born on July 12, 1923, in Salzburg, Austria, the daughter of Joseph and Anna Stubenreich. She married Peter Beck on Aug. 14, 1948 in Salzburg, Austria. Ruth worked for K-Mart for over 20 years while in Aurora, Ill. She and Peter retired to Minong where they kept a summer home. While in Minong they were both active in the Minong Senior Center. For the past few years she attended St. Anns Catholic Church. Ruth is survived by her three children, Joseph of Momence, Ill., Rita (Sean) Heller of Oregon, and Steve (Linda) of Montgomery, Ill.; granddaughter, Shawntell (Brian) Marak; and a great-grandson, Aiden. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister, Steffi. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL HOME, 1358 Hwy 51 at Jackson St., at 3 p.m., on Tuesday April 29, 2008, with Monsignor Gerard Healy presiding. A visitation will be held from 3:30 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to Good Sheperd Manor, Momence, Ill.
