Idella Bergee

Bergee, Idella L. MADISON/ MOUNT HOREB Idella L. (Moe) Bergee passed away at age 90, on Saturday, April 12, 2008, at Ingle Living Communities in Mount Horeb, where she had lived for more than nine years and was cared for by the most loving staff a family could want. Idella was born Aug. 29, 1917, in Plentywood, Mont., and married the Rev. Gerhard T.I. Bergee in 1940. They served Lutheran parishes in Middle River, Minn., Shelby, Mont., and McFarland, Beloit, and Elroy. During those years she taught piano to many young students, served as the church organist, filled in as choir director, taught Sunday school, and participated in every church organization that time would allow. Idella loved classical music and the family wishes to acknowledge Wisconsin Public Radio for the joy she got listening to WERN, which was playing at the time of her passing, thanks to her caregivers at Ingleside. She is survived by her children, I. G. Bergee and his wife, Nina of Kodiak, Alaska; Paul Bergee and his wife, Kathleen of Madison; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, G.T.I Bergee, in 1974; parents, Louis and Ida Moe; and brother, Orris Moe. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
