Clarence Klousie

Klousie, Clarence Warren MADISON Clarence Warren Klousie passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2008, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born Sept. 1, 1923, in Richland Center. He was the son of Clarence and Marie Klousie n?e Jewett. He was active for over 50 years in his profession as an engineer, most recently with HVAC Solutions, an independent engineering consulting firm. In the 1940s he worked in the Alaskan oil fields. From 1959 to 1972 he owned Home Heating Company in Madison. He left his footprint on the UW-Madison campus through the development of two student housing towers, the Inez Apartments and the Johnson Street Apartments in the 1960s. His passion for driving continued throughout his life, from racing stock cars as a teen to transporting developmentally disabled children in later life. He continues to be loved by his cherished partner of 28 years, Diane Dillett; and his children, David, William (Terri), Krista Jo (Damon) Unbehaun, Tina Marie (Ed) Root, Karen (Steve) Franklin, Kathy Dillett (Sev) Knudson, Su (Jordon) Cutler, Dan Dillett, Laura Mary Dillett (Tom) Weber, John Dillett, Aimee Ann (David) Dorn; his brother-in-law, George Plotts; 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; two nieces; and one nephew. He now joins his mother and father; his son, Michael "Mickey"; and his sister, Beverly Plotts. Memorial services will be held on Monday, May 5, 2008, at 7 p.m. at the GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial service will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at Richland Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the C.W. Klousie Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 183, Madison, Wisconsin, 53701.
