Helen and Cole, I only met each of you a few times before I moved to Minneapolis in 1998. I knew Ty going back to the late 1970s. An incredible man. Smart, sharp and quick with a smile and friendly gesture. An artist and man of the world. A friend to all who met him. We'd meet where ever there was music, people, cultural gatherings and events. I'd only see him periodically but when I did see him, I always enjoyed those visits. I saw him last August and thought of him often over the past 7 months. We talked of food, cooking, politics, life...I wanted him to team up with my wife and Marsha R. for a cooking extravaganza. Alas, time didn't permit. When I heard about his death last night, Thursday, I was angry, very angry. That he didn't have to go at this age. That it wasn't fair. Now I'm feeling sad. Very sad. A downer. I'll miss Tiberius and I wish I'd known him better than I did. I'm very, very sorry for your loss. My thoughts go out to the both of you and to all his many friends in Madison and beyond. Bill Thomas
