Everett Davis

Davis, Everett A. FITCHBURG/ MONONA Everett A. Davis, age 84, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2008, at the HospiceCare Center, Fitchburg. He was born on Aug. 24, 1923, in Vernon County, the son of Lawrence and Cora (Robinson) Davis. He married Marjorie Beatty on March 27, 1948, in Madison. Everett served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a medic. He worked as a machinist for Rayovac for 37 years, retiring in 1985. Everett enjoyed playing golf, fishing, watching boxing, and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his daughter, Connie (Ron) Colson of Edmund; son, Gerald (Joanie) Brown of Ithaca; grandchildren, Heather (Josh) Clauer, Chad Colson, Kimberly Brown, Dawn Brown, and Kelly Davis; 10 great-grandchildren; a great great-grandson; a sister, Evelyn Meacham; three brothers, Russell Davis, Edwin Davis, and Donald (Sharon) Davis; and several nieces and nephews. Everett was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie; parents; two sisters, Ethyl Smothers and Vera Poole; and two brothers, Elmer and Ronnie Davis. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, on Thursday, April 24, 2008, at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens with military rites conducted. Visitation will be on Thursday at the funeral home, from noon until the time of the service. Memorials may be made to HospiceCare.
