Copus, Eileen L. Grossman MADISON Eileen Louise (Grossman) Copus, age 61 of Madison, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2008. She was born on May 8, 1946, in Edgerton the daughter of Maynard and Orpha (Collins) Grossman. She married Vern Copus on Dec. 29, 1967. Eileen worked for the Department of Motor Vehicles for 28 years, retiring on May 8, 2007. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, taking pictures, baking and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Eileen is survived by her children, Stewart Copus (Val Schwenn), Scott (Michelle) Copus both of Windsor; grandchildren, Julie (Jose) Garcia, Nicole, Steven, Dustin, Dylan, and Zachary Copus; great grandchildren, Jose and Lilianna Garcia; mother, Orpha Grossman of Deerfield; sister, Ethel Lund (Mike Adler) of Deerfield; brother, Ralph Grossman of Deerfield; nieces, Jennifer (Phil) Martinson of Cambridge, Jody (Brandon) Wilke of Marshall, Sarah Grossman (John Beverly) of Marshall; and nephew Barry Grossman of Green Bay. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vern Copus in 1992; and father Maynard Grossman in 1973. A funeral service will be held at ST. PAULS LIBERTY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 3494 Oak Park Rd., Deerfield, at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, April 29, 2008, with the Reverend Daniel Anderson presiding. Burial will be at St. Pauls Liberty Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, April 28, 2008, and also at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Now I lay me down to sleep; I pray thee, lord, my soul to keep. If I should die before I wake; I pray thee, my soul to take. Amen.

Eileen was such a wonderful person -- we have missed her here at DOT since she retired and always enjoyed seeing her when she dropped in periodically. My memories of her will always be of the eternal 'smiling, happy and fun to be around' person that she was.
