Obituary
Kalmerton, Kaitlin Nicole SUN PRAIRIE/MADISON On Wednesday, April 9, 2008, our precious Kaitlin "Katie" Nicole Kalmerton, age 16, was escorted by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to spend eternity in heaven. Katie fought a valiant and admirable battle against cancer, touching the lives of all who came to know her. She was born on Dec. 19, 1991, in Oshkosh. Katies quiet heart of compassion, artistic gifts and talents, and entrepreneurial spirit, stirred within her a desire to bless and encourage other children in their own battles with childhood cancer, by designing and donating gifts of jewelry. Katies life richly blessed that of her family and friends, who were privileged to know her and share their lives with her. She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Robyn and Scott Baerenwald of Sun Prairie; her father, Steve Kalmerton of Oshkosh; twin siblings, Jennifer Neuman of Sun Prairie and Christopher Neuman of Beaver Dam; sister, Rebecca Neuman of Waukesha; brother, Preston Baerenwald of Sun Prairie; grandparents, Nancy (Bill) Mackin of OFallon, Ill., Carolyn Baerenwald of New London, Marvin (Carol) Baerenwald of Antigo, and Fern Kalmerton of Sheboygan Falls; and "special grandparents", Roseanne and Tim Coger of Sun Prairie. Katie was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Wilbert Jeffords of Waupun and Warren Kalmerton of Sheboygan Falls. Funeral services will be held at LAKE CITY CHURCH, 4909 E. Buckeye Road, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 14, 2008, with the Rev. John Ruck presiding. Burial will be at Cottage Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, 2008, and at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday. Katie will forever hold a special place in our hearts. She is our hero. Gunderson East Funeral and Cremation Centers 5203 Monona Drive (608) 221-5420 www.gundersonfh.com

Robyn and Family,
Though I never was able to meet you dear Katie. I can tell you that watching her battle through Caring Bridge and listening to your journaling just reminded me how much stronger our children are than we.
I will always feel blessed to have known her faith through you, and will NEVER forget your faith or your daughter. Wathcing her made me want to fight a little bit harder for all that was good in my life, and even the things that aren't always so good.
I will light a luminarie for her at Relay for Life this year in August.
God Bless,
Kerry Frank
