Joseph Kivlin

Kivlin, Joseph M. OREGON Joseph M. Kivlin, age 95, died on Thursday, March 13, 2008. He was born on Jan. 8, 1913, son of John and Anna (OBrien) Kivlin, on the family farm. Joseph was one of the oldest lifelong residents of the Fitchburg/Oregon farming community. He married Mary Wienkers on Nov. 24, 1943. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1993. Joseph enjoyed playing cards, bowling, and spending time with family and friends. In addition, he found great pride in his farm, crops, Irish heritage, loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joseph was a lifelong member of Holy Mother of Consolation Catholic Church. He is survived by his daughter, Mary "Terri"; son-in-law, Dave Lehmann; grandchildren, Scott (Xandy) Lehmann, Mary Jo (Matt) Rhude, Tracy Lehmann (fianc?, Dave Zvenyach); and great-grandchildren, Danielle and Brett Rhude, and Riley Lehmann. Joseph is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Esser and Pat Wienkers; brother-in-law, Ernie Tresch; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; two brothers; and five sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at HOLY MOTHER OF CONSOLATION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 651 N. Main St., Oregon, at 3 p.m. on Monday, March 17, 2008, with Father Bill Connell presiding. Visitation will be at the church from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at St. Marys Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Holy Mother of Consolation Catholic Church, HospiceCare Inc., or Sienna Crest Assisted Living. Josephs family would like to thank all "his girls" at Sienna Crest Assisted Living for their extraordinary care and kindness. They are family. Special thanks to his loyal visitors, Father Bill Connell, Sister Mary, Larry Kivlin, Scott Miller and Beth Andre. The Hospice staff, especially Mary and Sally, for their loving care and support.
