Carole Mack

Mack Carole J. MIDDLETON Carole J. Mack, age 66, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2008, at St. Marys Hospital following a courageous four-year battle with cancer. She was born on Jan. 24, 1942, in Madison, the daughter of Ray and Dorothy (Ebenhoe) Sersch. Carole attended St. Francis Xavier Catholic School and graduated from Middleton High School in 1960. She then went to work for Cuna Mutual as an underwriter until her retirement in 2003. Carole was united in marriage to Robert Mack on June 15, 1961, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Cross Plains. She enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Mexico, being outdoors and taking care of the yard, cooking for her family and watching the Packers and Badgers football. In addition to her husband, Robert Mack, she is survived by four children, Scott (Pam) Mack of Madison, Michelle Wallestad of Madison, Jeff Mack of Middleton and David (Michelle) Mack of Spring Green; seven grandchildren, Courtney (Jesse) Jorgensen, Justin Wallestad, Tanya and Tyler Mack and Morgan, Casey, and Spencer Mack; two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Gauge Jorgensen; a sister, Doris (Shimmel) Zander of Cross Plains and a brother, Dick (Sharon) Sersch of Dodgeville. Carole was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister, Judith; and a sister, Mary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BERNARDS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7450 University Ave., Middleton at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 7, 2008, with Monsignor Douglas Dushack presiding. Burial will be in St. Bernards Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 6, 2008, at the GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Ave., Middleton, where a Scripture Service will be held at 1:45 p.m.
