Roslyn Waddell

Waddell, Roslyn L. MADISON - Roslyn L. Waddell, age 85, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2008. She was born on March 30, 1922, in Spring Valley, the daughter of Henry and Jennie (Jacobson) Hogenson. Roslyn married Joseph K. Waddell Jr. on Aug. 10, 1944, in Atlanta, Ga. She served in the United States Navy as a WAVE during World War II, from November 1942 until November 1945. Roslyn and Joseph resided in Madison since 1965. Roslyn worked as a secretary for I.D.S. in Minneapolis, Minn. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church and Daughters of the Nile. Roslyn is survived by her husband, Joseph; daughter, Joy Carol (Glen) Shong; and three grandchildren, Joseph K. Waddell IV, James K. Waddell, and Leah (Fahad) Shong-Raja. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, J. K. Waddell III; brothers, John and Kenneth Hogenson; and sister, Eleanor Webert. Funeral services will be held at HOPE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 3702 County Trunk Highway AB, Cottage Grove, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2008, with the Rev. Chris Lee-Thompson presiding. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HospiceCare Inc. or Shriners Childrens Hospital.
