Obituary
Edmunds, Grace E. MONONA - Grace E. Edmunds, age 87, died on Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at home. She was born on Feb. 15, 1921, in Tipler, Wis., the daughter of Harry and Nora (Radliff) Robenolt. Grace worked at Ray-O-Vac and at an ice cream shop where she met William Edmunds. They were married on Aug. 18, 1943. Bill and Grace started Edmunds Auto Supply in 1959, in Monona. For some time, Grace was the only woman auto parts counter person in the state of Wisconsin and was well known for her parts knowledge and experience. They loved to travel and hit every continent except Australia and the poles. Graces love of children prompted her to open and support the Monona Grove Youth Center through the YMCA at her property on Monona Drive before they settled in the community center. Her extensive support for local charities and community organizations was never ending. Grace was a member of Lake Edge United Church of Christ, Olbrich Botanical Society, Order of Eastern Star, Madison-Monona Lionesses, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7591, the Womens Auxiliary to the MOC No. 0041, the National Audubon Society, Monona Senior Band, Monona Chamber of Commerce, and was a past board member of the Wisconsin Automotive Wholesalers Association. Grace is survived by her daughters, Jeanne E. Smith of Monona, Janet M. Oshefsky of Neenah, and Linda H. (Daniel) Schoenberg of Columbus, Ohio; son, John R. Edmunds of Monona; grandchildren, Jennifer (John) Cooper of McFarland, Joan Godhardt of Oshkosh, Justin and Joshua Oshefsky of Neenah, Jeff (Stephanie) Edmunds of Oshkosh, Sara Edmunds of Milwaukee, and Joshua and Michael Schoenberg of Columbus, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Amaia and Adrea; brother, Robert Seering of Green Bay; and half-sister, Edith "Goldie" (Roger) Crouce of Spring Hill, Fla. She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Edmunds; parents; John (Ann) David of Cornwall, Minn.; Eugene Robenolt; and special friend, Hank Kasparek. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, on Saturday, March 29, 2008, at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Paul Shupe presiding. Entombment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday, March 27, 2008, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. The family would like to thank the following for their past medical assistance and caring: Dr. Couser and Dr. DiMaggio, and her ever compassionate nurse, Darlene, Jean Espenshade, all of Dean Medical and the paramedics of Monona and Volunteer Fire Department, and a special thanks for the caring support from her HospiceCare team.
