Obituary

Gordon, Arlyn F. "Arly" MONONA - Arlyn F. "Arly" Gordon, age 80, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2008, after a lengthy struggle with leukemia. She was born on June 21, 1927, in Marshfield, the daughter of Phillip and Elizabeth (Schneider) Frieders. At age 18, she moved to Milwaukee, to study occupational therapy. She continued her studies at UW-Madison and received a bachelors degree in 1958. Arly was united in marriage to Robert "Bob" Gordon on Oct. 26, 1957. She was an active member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Arly had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed traveling. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Arly is survived by her husband, Bob of Monona; two daughters, Kathy (special friend, Jim Schumacher) of Lodi and Sue (Greg) Hubanks of Prairie du Sac; and two granddaughters, Hilary and Hannah Hubanks. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Lynell; three brothers, Eugene, Larry, and Merle; and three sisters, Lil, Eunice, and Miriam. A Memorial Mass will be at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield St., Monona, at 11 a.m., on Saturday, March 29, 2008, with Father John Meinholz presiding. Visitation will be at church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HospiceCare or to the family, who will make a donation towards research and finding a cure for leukemia. A special thanks to HospiceCare and all of our wonderful friends, especially, Fran Fenske, Jan Kern, and Chris Wautlet.
