Paul Crocker

Crocker, Paul MADISON Paul Crocker died peacefully at home on Thursday, March 20, 2008. He was born on Jan. 1, 1939, in Kingstree, N.C., the son of Simon Paul Crocker and Victoria Shelpton; however, Paul was raised by his grandparents, Massoud and Almaza Kozma, and with the help of his aunts and uncles, Emilie and Eli Kozma, P.K. and Margie Kozma, B.M. Kozma, and Johnny and Marie Nimmer, all of whom preceded him in death. When he was 17 years old he joined the U.S. Air Force, 61st Fighter Squadron and was stationed in Amarillo, Texas, Newfoundland and Truax in Madison, where he lived after he was discharged. He was united in marriage with Colleen Connors on May, 17 1969, and has a son, Robert. Paul worked at Red Owl, Gisholt, and K-Mart, before he started at Oscar Mayer in 1975. Paul enjoyed working in security where he continued after his official retirement, working until October 2007. Paul loved his yearly vacations with his family and also yearly auto trips with the Chapman Family, as they traveled through most of the lower 48 states. Pauls ability to make others part of his family included the Connors Clan, Charles and Linda Chapman, and his life long buddies of the 61st Fighter Squadron, as well as the staff and customers of the Dairyland Restaurant, who provided daily dose of friends, fun, laughs, as well as a big early morning breakfast. The Buckeye neighborhood will also miss seeing Paul on his daily walks. Paul used the gift of life to focus on happy memories as he continued to always move forward. Paul is survived by his wife, Colleen; and son, Robert Crocker of Stoughton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, on Monday, March 24, 2008, at noon with the Father Kent Schmitt presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. A visitation will be at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Dennis Building fund or HospiceCare.
