Edward Ford

Ford, Edward J. MADISON Edward J. Ford, age 73, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2008, at home. He was born on Oct. 21, 1934, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Daniel and Mary (Kennelly) Ford. He married Margaret Hamilton on Aug. 25, 1961. Edward served in the U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard, dedicating 38 years, and honorably retired on Oct. 31, 1989. He loved the spring, knowing that the golf season was approaching. Edward enjoyed golf, NASCAR, making people laugh, spending time with his dog, Snowy, and was an avid Wisconsin sports fan. Edward was a loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his three children, Kathy (Jeff) ONeill of Cottage Grove, Cindy Ford of Madison, and Daniel (Tricia) Ford of Sun Prairie; grandchildren, Jenifer (Jamie) Faust, Heather (Darrell Miller) Madigan, Jeff ONeill, and Becky ONeill; and a granddaughter due any day; two great-grandchildren, Kristian and Michael ONeill; brother, Patrick (Helen); sister, Mary (Ed) Pardel; nieces; nephews; and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret in 1994; in-laws, John and Ruth Hamilton; two brothers, Jack and Daniel; and a sister-in-law, Theresa Gehrke. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, on Thursday, March 20, 2008, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. John McCarthy presiding. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens with military rites conducted. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 19, 2008, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Bob Crooks, for all of his help and support during this difficult time and also to the staff at HospiceCare for their generous support and compassion.
