Obituary

Edgren, Robert R. OREGON Robert R. Edgren, age 76, passed away at home unexpectedly on Monday, March 3, 2008. He was born on Aug. 13, 1931, in Goodman, the son of George and Martha (Zechel) Edgren. He graduated from Berlin High School in 1950, with his twin brother, Albert. Bob served four years in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War from Jan. 5, 1951 to Jan. 5, 1955. Bob was a member of Union Local 314 since August 1955. He served a four year apprenticeship in carpentry with the Jim Imhoff Construction Company and graduated from Madison Area Technical College in 1959. Bob was a former superintendent for Madison Property, and then he joined the Ken F. Sullivan Company as a superintendent for 21 years, retiring in 1989. Bob was united in marriage to Joan Marie Johnson on Oct. 15, 1960. He loved country music from the early 1940s and 1950s. He looked forward to deer hunting every year when he owned 60 acres in Wild Rose. Bob is survived by his wife, Joan; a son, Robert R. (Debbie) Edgren Jr. of Oregon; daughters, Vicki (Brian) Ballweg of Poynette and Julie (Scott) Poffinbarger of Cottage Grove; grandchildren, Jeffrey and Bradley Poffinbarger, Cody and Kaci Ballweg, Heather Edgren, and David (Andrea) Merchant; brothers, George (Irene) Edgren Jr. and Albert (Dixie) Edgren of Wild Rose, Gerald (Nancy) Edgren of Plainfield, and Rodger (Pat) Edgren of Marshall; sisters, Joan (Bill) Kalrath of Fall River, Betty (Phil) Ingwell, and Nancy (John) Hillard, both of Madison; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Virginia, Margie, and Loretta. Bob will be missed very much by all who have loved him. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 7, 2008, at noon, at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, with the Rev. Clara Thompson presiding.
