Phyllis Black

Black, Phyllis Kerr OREGON Phyllis Kerr Black, age 83, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008, at Oregon Manor. She was born on April 2, 1924, in Belfast, North Ireland, a daughter of Hugh Alexander and Anna Isabella (Kerr) Annesley. Phyllis was united in marriage to Robert Wallace Black on Sept. 25, 1951, in Stormont, Northern Ireland. They moved to Greece in 1972 and followed their children to the United States in 1982. Phyllis was patient and kind. She was dedicated to caring for her husband for more than 20 years. Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Linda (Steve) Russ of Dale City, Va.; son-in-law, Bob Gray of Oregon; three grandchildren, Phillip Russ of Waynesboro, Ga., Melissa (Cody) Detwiler of Dale City, Va., Emily Virnig of Madison; and two great-grandchildren, Grace and Bryce Detwiler. She was preceded in death by her husband; and a daughter, Gillian Wallace Gray. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL HOME, Hwy. 51 North at Jackson St., Stoughton, at 4:30 p.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008, with the Rev. Bob Groth presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HospiceCare, Inc., 5395 E.
