Arnold Schwenn

Schwenn, Arnold K. OREGON Arnold K. "Arnie" Schwenn, age 84, of Oregon, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008, at Oregon Manor. He was born on June 16, 1923, in Dane, the son of Julius and Hannah (Mickelson) Schwenn. He married Blanche Hawks in 1946 and they had six children. Arnie was married to Beverly Woznick for 10 years. She preceded him in death in 1998. Arnie was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy Pacific Fleet. He was a production worker at Oscar Mayer, retiring after 32 years. After Arnies retirement, he enjoyed volunteer work and also helping out less fortunate people. Arnie is survived by his children, Craig (Patti) Schwenn of Oregon, Michael Schwenn of Rock Springs, Wyo., Karla (Gaylon Buttars) Schwenn of Longmont, Colo., Beverly Wilson and Denise (John) Mackun, both of St. George, Utah; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Violet Taylor of Santa Rose, Calif. Arnie was preceded in death by his son, Alan; three sisters, Dorothy, Katherine, and Ida; six brothers, Leslie, Gayhart, Raymond, Peter, Alvin, and his twin, Donald. Private services will be held in Dane. Memorials may be made to the Appleton Senior Center, 2616 S. Oneida St., Appleton, 54915.
