Obituary
Stemmler, Marion P. MADISON Marion P. Stemmler, age 81, of Madison, passed away suddenly on Feb. 27, 2008, at UW Hospital. She was born on Feb. 5, 1927, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Viola (Walter) and Douglas Pieritz. Marion received a Bachelor of Arts degree in home economics from UW-Madison. She was united in marriage to Robert (Bob) Stemmler on Nov. 17, 1948. Marions passion was the local arts community, and she spent more than 20 years as a volunteer docent at the Elvehjem, now Chazen Museum of Art. She was an active member of the Madison Bead Society, Wisconsin Historical Society and Embroidery Guild. Her hobbies included beading, embroidery, fibre arts, art history, bridge, travel and tai-chi. Marion is survived by two sons, Jay (Karrie) of Seattle and Doug (Carol) of Indianapolis; three grandsons, Jayson, Kris and Jack; and a sister, Janet Robinson. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband. Funeral services will be held at the GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Ave., Middleton, on Monday, March 3, 2008, at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor David Brandfass presiding. A visitation will be held on Monday from 10:30 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. A private burial will be held.
