Obituary

Linley, James H. MADISON James H. Linley, age 72, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008, at the HospiceCare Center in Fitchburg. He was born on Aug. 1, 1935, in Mazomanie, the son of Henry and Ethel (Borman) Linley. Jim was a United States Army veteran having served from 1956 through 1958. He worked as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service from 1959 until his retirement in 1990. He then joined Nakoma Golf Club as a groundskeeper. Jim was an avid sportsman who enjoyed all sports including bowling, hunting and fishing. He was also very active with the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corp. Jim is survived by three sons, Robert Linley of McFarland, Dennis (Jennifer) Linley of Baraboo, and Jay (Sandra) Linley of Windsor; a brother, Michael (Betty) Linley of Marinette; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Kevin; a brother, William; and three sisters, Iona, Eleanor and Marie. Funeral services will be held at the GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Ave., Middleton at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 15, 2008, with Chaplain Annette Cleary presiding. Burial will be in St. Barnabas Catholic Cemetery, Mazomanie. Family and friends may call from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, and also on Friday from 10 a.m. until the service at the funeral home. "May you never walk alone."
