Irene Schultz

Schultz, Irene A. MONONA Longtime resident of Monona, Irene A. Schultz, passed away at Hebron Oaks on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008, at age 97. She was born in Madison in 1910, the daughter of the late Fredrick and Alvina (Paulman) Niebuhr. Irene graduated from Methodist Hospital School of Nursing and worked in obstetrics at the former Methodist Hospital. She was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Irene is survived by her daughters, Sandra (Victor) Peterson of Franklin and Dorothy (Frank) Eirten of Irmo, S.C.; five grandchildren, Timothy (LuAnn) Peterson of Portage, Daniel (Karen) Peterson of St. Paul, Minn., Jonathan (Tamera) Eirten of Minneapolis, Minn., Randall (Sylvia) Peterson of Cudahy, and Krista (Matthew) Bernthal of Irmo, S.C.; and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert; brothers; and sisters. A private burial service will be held for Irene. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
