Nancy Schaeffer

Schaeffer, Nancy E. E. PLAIN Nancy Elizabeth Eichorn Schaeffer, age 65, of Plain, passed away on Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, at St. Marys Hospital. She was born on Aug. 21, 1942, in Bridgeport, Conn., the daughter of Dr. John C. Eichorn and Mary E. "Bessie" Lea Eichorn. Nancy married Roger Schaeffer on June 7, 1964, in Forest City, Iowa. She graduated from high school in Guadalajara, Mexico and then from Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa with a B.S. in modern languages. She taught at Barneveld High School and River Valley High School in Spring Green. Nancy loved to read, do seamstress work and was an internet columnist, sharing sewing hints. She is survived by her husband, Roger of Plain; a son, Timothy (Daris) Schaeffer of Stoughton; mother, Mary Eichorn of Auburn, Calif.; three grandchildren, Jacob, Lydia and Riley Schaeffer; a nephew, Todd (Deborah) Skinner and their son, Kole, all of Redding, Calif. Nancy was preceded in death by her father; and sister, Susan Skinner. A memorial service will be held at the SPRING GREEN COMMUNITY CHURCH, 151 E. Bossard St., Spring Green, on Friday, Feb. 15, 2008, at 11 a.m. Burial will be held at Oakland Cemetery, Forest City, Iowa, on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at 11 a.m.
