Obituary

Feggestad, Delaine R. STOUGHTON Delaine R. Feggestad, age 76, died peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008, at the Don and Marilyn HospiceCare Center in Fitchburg, after a battle with cancer. Delaine was born on Sept. 13, 1931, in the Town of Pleasant Springs, the son of Alfred and Helga (Olson) Feggestad. He attended Stoughton rural schools, Odland, Magelson, Jargo, and Stoughton High School. Delaine served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean conflict, worked on U.S. Border Patrol in El Paso, Texas, served in the U.S. Air Force Air Cadet School, Wisconsin Air Guard, and flew for Eastern Airlines as captain for 25 years. He was a member of Stoughton Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. Delaine was Sun Prairie Angel Parks oldest midget race driver, known as "Race Car Fegge." He loved to go to auctions, auction specialists kept the number "13" especially for him. Delaine and Beverli loved dancing three to four nights a week, especially at "Country Corners." He helped a lot of his friends get into flying air planes and making it their career. Delaine is survived by his significant other, Beverli Spangler; brothers, Clifford of Green Bay and Rollin (Betty Seamonson) of Stoughton; sisters, Irene Hardie of Madison, Audrey Smith of Wausau, Yvonne (Al) Herlitzka of Mason City, Iowa, and Nina Barker of Highland Park, Ill.; former wife, Lorraine (Rice) Sedin of Solon Spring, Wis.; and 23 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Arden; and sister, Ruth Stokstad. Delaine requested no funeral and for his body to be donated to the UW Medical Center. A memorial service is planned by the family at a later date, with inurnment at West Koshkonong Church. The family would like to thank HospiceCare for their loving care they gave Delaine. Thank you all for letting me be a part of your lives. Please fill your lives with kindness and love. Someday we will be a family again, Ill be waiting. I love you bigger than the whole sky.
