Robert Clausius

Clausius, Robert A. "Bob" MADISON Robert Allen Clausius, age 82, of Madison, and formerly of Fond du Lac, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008, at HospiceCare Inc. of Madison. He was born on April 17, 1925, at Richland Center, the son of Marion B. and Mildred M. Clausius. Bob married Erleen B. Schumann at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Marxville, on Aug. 25, 1956. He was a graduate of Richland Center High School and served for 23 years in the United States Army, Wisconsin National Guard and Army Reserves. He was part of American Occupation Forces in Japan following World War II. Bob was employed for 43 years by Wisconsin Power and Light Co., working in purchasing and materials management operations in Madison and Fond du Lac. He retired on June 1, 1990. Bob was active throughout his life in sports, church, political, military and job-related activities. He was a member of Lutheran Church of the Living Christ in Madison and a former member of Immanuel Trinity Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac. Bob was also a member of VFW Post 1318, Madison Masonic Lodge No. 5 and Madison Scottish Rites Bodies, Wisconsin Right to Life, Wisconsin Utility Investors and Wisconsin Power and Light Pioneer Club. He was a past president of the Madison Area Purchasing Association, a church council member, participated in the Fond du Lac Active Leaders program and served on the Lake Winnebago Health Systems Agency review board. Bob is survived by his wife of 51 years, Erleen; four children and eight grandchildren, Becky (Jim) Buechel of Pewaukee and their daughter Lindsay of La Crosse, Gregg and his children Kyle and Katie of Seattle, Wash., Gary (Tamara) and their son Gavin of Fond du Lac, and Jodi (Steve) Mueller and their children Holly, Sydney, Alex and Derek of Madison. He is also survived by two sisters, Ruth Clausius of Richland Center, and Betty (Norman) Van Arsdall of Oxnard, Calif.; four step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at the LUTHERAN CHURCH OF THE LIVING CHRIST, 110 N. Gammon Road, Madison at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, with the Rev. Daniel C. Kowert presiding. Burial with military rites will be in Sunset Memory Gardens, Madison. Family and friends may call on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
