Lloyd Moen

Moen, Lloyd P. OREGON/ BLANCHARDVILLE Lloyd P. Moen, age 89, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008, at the VA Hospital. He was born on Aug. 14, 1918, in Minneapolis, Minn., the son of Elmer and Helga (Andreassen) Moen. Lloyd served in the U.S. Army during World War II, receiving two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star for his service. He returned home in 1946. Lloyd was a member of the American Legion. He is survived by his children, Joyce (John) Holdrich of Lawrenceville, Ga., David (Pat) Moen of Lakeland, Minn., Faith McCoy of Boynton Beach, Fla., Susan (Daniel) Holcomb of Lawrenceville, Ga., Carol Moen of Madison, Anna (Gorden) Erickson of Tomahawk, and Cheryl, Brian and Nick Way of Oregon; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Eleanor (Donald) Gammeter; and a brother, Ernest (Amy) Moen; and many nieces and nephews. Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife, Eva; his companion of 23 years, Hilda Rockwell; infant twins, Ronald and Rachel; his parents; brothers, Norman, Harold, Phillip, and Orville; and a sister, Myrtle. Funeral services will be held at OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 431 Soden Drive, on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Prairie Mound Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday, from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
