Obituary

Viney, Marie L. OREGON Marie Lorraine Viney, age 96 of Oregon, passed away on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 5, 2008, at the HospiceCare Center in Fitchburg, surrounded by her family. She was born on Jan. 28, 1912, at home in the Township of Springdale, to Leonard and Caroline (Brink) Marty. Marie attended grade school at several rural one room schools. She married Fredrick "Woody" Viney of Belleville, on June 6, 1932, in St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church. Marie and her husband owned and operated several restaurants and bars during their lifetime. She retired from tending bar in 1994 at the age of 82. Marie enjoyed bowling and playing Euchre. She was a long time member of Holy Mother of Consolation Catholic Church, Oregon. Marie is survived by her two sons, Del (Judy) of Madison and J.C. "Chub" (Nancy) of Stoughton; daughter, Lori (Ron) Aebly; six grandchildren, Sherry (Todd) Kramer of Fitchburg, Michele Mahoney of Aurora, Colo., Tanya Kakuske of Oregon, Brent Allen Viney of Cottage Grove, Christopher (Deb) Viney of St. Cloud, Minn., and Nicole (Ken) Olmstead of Beloit; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Len (Audrey) Marty of Belleville; and a sister, Ann Vollenweider of Verona; and many relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands parents; three brothers and a sister; a son, Arlin Fredrick; a grandson, A.J. "Vince" Viney; and Woody, her husband of 68 years, in 2000. A Mass of Christian Burial for Marie, will be held at HOLY MOTHER OF CONSOLATION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 651 N. Main St., Oregon, on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008, at 11 a.m., with Father Bill Connell presiding. Burial will be at Frenchtown Cemetery near Belleville. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service at church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Marys Care Center or HospiceCare. The family suggests that you donate a new teddy bear (with tags) to the Dori Bear Project at Hospice or bring them the day of the service.
