Obituary
Fleming, Robert H. ST. PETERSBURG, FLA. Robert H. Fleming, age 65, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008, at the V.A. Hospital, after a short illness, while visiting family in the Madison area. He was born on June 12, 1942, in Madison, the son of the late Robert L. and Marion Fleming. Bob graduated from Gale-Ettrick High School. He then enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served the majority of his tour aboard the USS McCaffery, on which he participated in the Bay of Pigs embargo. Upon leaving the Navy, Bob moved to Chicago, where he worked as a dispatcher at the A Abel Trucking Company and later, in the same capacity for Liberty Trucking Company. It was during this period, he met Betty Rybeciki, whom soon became his wife. In the mid 80s, Bob and Betty moved to St. Petersburg, Fla., where they made their home. Bob is survived by his mother, Marion; a sister, Nancy (Jerry) Kaufman; three brothers, Bill (Carol), Jim (Ellen), and Tom (Judy) Fleming; an aunt, Adelaide Schild; long-time companion, Ruenelle Guyton; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; his father, Robert; a very special niece, Heather; and his uncle, Stan Schild. A service will be held for relatives and friends at ST. JOHNS LUTHERAN CHURCH, Prairie du Sac, at 11:30 a.m., on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008. The family would like to thank the V.A. Hospital and staff, for their care and generosity shown to Bob, while he was ill, and especially, in making Bobs passing one of dignity and compassion.
