Robert Turner

Turner, Robert M. MADISON Robert M. Turner, age 69, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008, at the HospiceCare Center in Fitchburg. He was born Oct. 8, 1938, in Madison, the son of Harold and Vera (Everson) Turner. Robert was united in marriage to Joan Miller on Feb. 11, 1961, in Madison. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Madison. He served in the Army Reserves for 28 years. Robert worked as a building inspector for more than 25 years for the City of Madison. He had a great love for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting and golf. Robert is survived by his wife of 46 years, Joan of Madison; a son, Brett (Gail) Turner of Middleton; a granddaughter, Morgan; a brother, Tom Turner of Westfield; a sister, Mollie (Ed) Thessin of Columbus; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant nephew. Funeral services will be held at the FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, 518 N. Franklin Ave., Madison at noon on Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, with the Rev. Mark M. Clinger presiding. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Madison. Family and friends may call on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HospiceCare Inc. or to the American Cancer Society.
