Dean Iverson

Iverson, Dean F. MADISON/ PORTAGE Dean F. Iverson, age 76, passed away on Monday, Jan. 28, 2008, at the HospiceCare Center, Fitchburg, after a brave battle with cancer. He was born on March 20, 1931, in Daleyville, the son of Carl and Annie Iverson. Dean graduated from Mount Horeb High School. He married Judy Burdick on Oct. 11, 2003. Dean was self-employed and was owner of Capital City Building Maintenance. He enjoyed his summer home at Pride of America Campground and winters in Arizona. Dean also enjoyed traveling, the Packers, camping, classic cars, dancing, and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Judy Iverson of Portage; children, Janis (Brad) Kroon of Madison and Vicki (Arron) Bronson of Madison; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; step children, Steven (Cheryl) Volden of McFarland, Kym (Mike) Thompson of Stoughton, and Darwin Volden of Sauk City; brothers, Carroll (Lois) Iverson and Richard Iverson; a sister, Anne Marie (Larry) Syftestad; sister-in-law, Anna Belle Iverson; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Dean was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Beverly; sisters, Avis Iverson and Doris Jelle; brother, Harold Iverson; and sisters-in-law, Grace Iverson and Lucille Iverson. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park.
