Obituary
Pettey, Marjorie Monroe MONONA Marjorie Monroe Pettey, age 81, celebrated her heavenly birthday on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008, at home in Monona, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Aug. 17, 1926, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Milton and Marjorie Johnson, the third of seven children. Marjorie moved with her family to Madison in 1933. She graduated from Madison West High School in 1944, and attended the UW-Madison, before marrying Norman Wesley Pettey on Sept. 5, 1947. Marjorie was a very active member of St. Marks Lutheran Church, as well being a long-time volunteer at the Monona Public Library. While she was known by many names, Mom, Grandma, Sister, and Aunt Tootie, she will be remembered by all as the sweetest lady who ever lived. Marjorie is survived by her four beloved children, Jon (Thap) of Denver, Colo., Susan Pautz of Monona, Thomas of Monona, and Karen of Madison; her grandchildren, Bethany (Evan) Kerns, Andrew (Claire) Pautz, Matthew Pautz, Lauren Pettey-Ajango, and Linh Dam; her siblings, Richard (Barbara) Johnson of Alta Loma, Calif., Thomas (Helen) Johnson of Green Valley, Ariz., and Patricia (Carl Richard) Moe of Loudon, Tenn.; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Norman; a sister, Carol; and two brothers, Milton and James. Funeral services will be held at ST. MARKS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 605 Spruce St., Madison, at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008, with the Rev. Mary Pharmer presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center, 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Fitchburg, WI 53711 or to St. Marks Lutheran Church, 605 Spruce St., Madison, WI 53715. The family would especially like to thank Dreamweavers, the Don and Marilyn HospiceCare Center, Pastor Mary Pharmer, and Dr. Marjorie DiMaggio, for all of their care and support. Mom, Grandma and Tootie...you are an angel of the heart. We love you and miss you.
