Langel, Helen STOUGHTON Helen Bounds Langel, age 90, of Skaalen Apartments, Stoughton, formerly of Kirkersville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008, at St. Marys Care Center, Madison, after a short illness. Helen was born on April 14, 1917, in Buckeye Lake, Ohio and lived most of her life on the farm in Kirkersville. Helen was a wonderful homemaker and mother, she also worked for many years as the office clerk at Scotts Variety Store in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. Helen was also very involved in the Bounds Addition at Buckeye Lake, Ohio. She was a member of Kirkersville Methodist Church and recently received her 70 year pin from the Eagon Chapter Easter Star. Helen is survived by her daughter, Lynn (Charles) Spencer; son, William (Linda) Langel; three grandchildren, Laurie, David and John Langel; in-laws, Ralph Herriott, Jack and Irene Godfrey; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Langel; father, Linsey Bounds; mother, Julia Slocumb Bounds; brothers, John, Charles and Nelson Bounds; sisters, Margaret and Mary Bounds, and Bernice Barb; Funeral services will be held at SKAALEN CHAPEL, 400 Morris St., Stoughton, on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. James Koza presiding. Visitation will be at the chapel on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. The family would like to thank all the staff of Skaalen Apartments for their love and kindness during Helens five years. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Skaalen Home Chapel.
