Erma Mather

Mather, Erma S. MADISON Erma S. Mather, age 91, died on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, one week before her 92nd birthday, at Stevens Point Care Center, where she had been a resident for almost 10 years. She was born on Feb. 2, 1916, in Bloomer, to Olaf and Dagmar (Johnson) Felland. Erma graduated from Madison East High School and worked at the Madison Telephone Company before becoming a full time homemaker. Erma married Gordon Mather on Feb. 3, 1937. Over the years she enjoyed crossword puzzles, mystery novels, bowling, square dancing, going out to dinner with her beloved husband every week, hot fudge sundaes, and spending time with her family. She is survived by three children, Gary (Pam) Mather of Oregon, Diane Mitchell of Kansas City, Mo., and Michael (Karin) Mather of Amherst; six grandchildren, Brad and Jeff Mitchell, Dexter Pagan, Andrea (Mark) Peirce, Danielle (Jeff) Mason, and Gryffyn Mather; and five great-grandchildren, Nathan and Owen Mitchell, Lexi and Dru Peirce, and Wyatt Mason. Erma was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; brother, Godfred Felland; and two sisters, Bergliot Sime and Harriet Wood. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 1, 2008. Private entombment at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, from 5 p.m. until the time of services.
