Joyce Trevaskis

Trevaskis, Joyce MADISON Joyce (Day) Trevaskis, age 84, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008. She was born on Jan. 1, 1924, in Madison, to Galen and Ruth (Brussow) Day. Joyce was always proud to explain to anyone that asked about her birthday, that she was the first baby born in Madison, in 1924. She was also proud of the fact that the VFW 7591 on Cottage Grove Road was named for her brothers and father. Joyce was married for 25 years to Leo Trevaskis, and after his death she moved to Dryden Terrace Apartments and loved every minute there with her lovely lady friends. The family wishes to thank these many ladies for the love and care extended to Joyce. Joyce is survived by her sister, Delores (Paul) Hendrickson; five nieces and a nephew, Lynn (Tom) Jorris, Nancy (Joe) Quinlan, Kathy (Tim) Roh, Jerry (Debbie) Hendrickson, Robin (Jim) Oasen, and Lori (Mike King) Hendrickson; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo; two brothers, Galen Jr. and Donald, who were killed during World War II; a sister, Patricia Miller; brother-in-law, Fred Miller; and a nephew, Bruce Miller. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 28, 2008. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Joyces name to a charity of the donors choice. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Albert Musa for his compassionate care of Joyce and her family.
