Kathleen McCann

McCann, Kathleen T. MADISON Kathleen T. McCann, age 80, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008, at HospiceCare, Fitchburg. She was born on Feb. 16, 1927, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Evan and Margaret (Avel) Williams. Kathleen worked at Rayovac for 30 years, until recently working for Independent Living. One of the greatest highlights of her life was her role as a community caregiver, lending support to family and friends as needed. Kathleens family was very important to her and she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed sewing. Kathleen is survived by a son, John McCann of Madison; daughter, Vivian (Al) Beckwith of Madison; nine grandchildren, Tammy (Kevin), Teresa (Todd), Debbie (Dave), John (Kari), Cary, Michael, Brian, Charles Jr., and Lauren; five step-grandchildren, Steve (Terri), Tammie, Laurie, Ron, and Jim (Kay); and nine great-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Dylan, Nate, Kylie, John Jr., Kathleen, Charles III, Carly, Brandon, and "Akira". She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Myrtle Williams; an infant son, William; three sons, Paul, Charles, and Patrick; her brother, Jack Williams; and by her sister, Peggy Hosp. A Memorial Mass will be held at ST. JAMES CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1128 St. James Court, Madison, at 11 a.m., on Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, with Monsignor Thomas Baxter presiding. Visitation will be at the Gunderson East Funeral Home, 5203 Monona Drive, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008, with a rosary service at 7 p.m. Gently as the snow fell, Kathleen peacefully joined the heavenly stars above, where her sons, Paul, Charlie, Pat, and Billy embraced her in their loving arms.
