Hilda Poole

Poole, Hilda M. MADISON Hilda M. Poole, age 89, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008, at Evansville Manor, after a brief illness. She was born on June 7, 1918, in Portis, Kan., the daughter of Homer and Mildred (Storer) Hammond. She married James E. Poole Sr., on Aug. 1, 1942. Hilda worked for Democrat Printing and East High School. She enjoyed helping Kathy with ceramics, traveling with her husband, and watching stock car racing. Hilda is survived by two sons, James (Kathleen) Jr. of Janesville, and Roger (Martha) of North Bend, Wash.; three grandchildren, Jeff, Todd, and Vanessa; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James; parents; and a brother, Lovell. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008, at 7 p.m., with the Rev. G. Keith Schroerlucke presiding. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
