Regina Sorum

Sorum, Regina L. COTTAGE GROVE Regina L. Sorum, age 89, passed away on Monday, Jan. 7, 2008, at home. She was born on May 6, 1918, in Hartford, the daughter of Clarence and Anna (Duckert) Farr. She married Edmund Sorum on June 18, 1938, in Deerfield. Regina enjoyed trips up north to Hayward, baking, cooking, playing cards, and getting together with family and friends. She was a member of the Cottage Grove Historical Society and Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church. Regina is survived by her children, Bob (Margaret) of Cottage Grove, Mary Harbort (Paul Downey Sr.) of Sun Prairie, Jim (Jule) of Cottage Grove, Lori (Bill) Redepenning of Stoughton, and Rhonda (Larry) Fautch of Prescott; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Dr. Danny Cox of Kansas; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund; her parents; a grandson, Rob Sorum; and two sisters, Muriel and Alice. Funeral services will be held at BRYN MAWR PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 229 N. Main St., Cottage Grove, on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. John Jewell presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials may be made to Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church or to HospiceCare. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the HospiceCare staff for their care and concern, and also the many church friends and neighbors.
