Thomas Mulhern

Mulhern, Thomas M. MADISON Thomas Martin Mulhern, age 60, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2007, at his home. He was born on Oct. 1, 1947, in Philadelphia, Pa., the son of Martin and Mary (Maginnis) Mulhern. Tom married Nancy Boettcher on June 23, 1990, in Grand Forks, N.D. He was a lifelong active member of the Boy Scouts of America, currently serving as the assistant district commissioner of the Yahara district. Tom was in the Air Force for 20 years, being stationed at different places around the world. He received a doctorate of arts from the University of North Dakota with honors. During the 1997 flood in Grand Forks, N.D., Tom served as an information officer for response and recovery. Tom is survived his wife, Nancy; a daughter, Angela Lenart of Coon Rapids, Minn.; sons, Sean Mulhern of Ala., Alan Mulhern (fiancée, Holly Undlin) of Grand Forks, N.D. and Connor of Madison; three grandchildren, Harley, Colton and Makenzie; and a niece, Dawn Sfida of Philadelphia, Pa. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Dorothy "Dot" Woods. A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 31, 2007, with the Rev. Jerry Amstutz presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at the Veterans Cemetery in North Dakota. Memorials may be made to Boy Scouts of America.
