Mavis Minor

Minor, Mavis O. MADISON Mavis O. Minor, age 81, of Madison, died gracefully and loved just as she lived on Friday, Dec. 14, 2007. Mavis was born on Jan. 3, 1926, in Pierpont, S.D., to Omond and Millie (Rye) Forland. She married Reese Minor on Oct. 10, 1948, in Ostrander, Minn. Mavis was the personnel director for the State Medical Society for 24 years. She was a very active member at Trinity Lutheran Church, a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary. Mavis is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Minor and Susan (Conrad) Marking; granddaughters, Angie and Jessica Marking; a brother, Burton (Edith) Forland; and many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Reese; a son, Larry; and brothers, Orlin and Jerald Forland. Funeral services will be held at TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1904 Winnebago St., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 17, 2007, with the Rev. John Ruppenthal presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007 and at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday.
