Obituary

Doyle, Evelyn Mary OREGON/ MADISON/ STOUGHTON Evelyn Mary Doyle, age 93, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, at Nazareth Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on April 18, 1914, in Menominee, to Charles F. and Alice E. Bauer. When Evelyn was six years old, her mother died. She was raised by her grandmother, Caroline Bauer. She graduated from Durand High School and worked at the Durand Theater, where she met her husband, Donald. They were married on April 5, 1934, in Durand. Evelyn devoted her life to her family and to helping others. She was a member of St Marys Hospital Womens Auxiliary (life member), Queens Guild at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Forest Products Womens League and the Catholic Order of Foresters. She volunteered for the Dane County American Red Cross and was involved with a variety of service projects at both Holy Mother of Consolation Catholic Church and Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, including the School Lunch Program. She was a Cub Scouts Den Mother. Evelyn is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Donald; eight children, Donald (Sue) Doyle of Oxford, Ann (Donovan) Johnson of Brooklyn, Alice (Fred) Carson of Foley, Ala., Bernice (John) Owen of Madison, Patricia (Arthur) Owen of New Brighton, Minn., Mary (Dale) Adams of Jacksonville, Fla., Michael (Annette) Doyle of Peachtree City, Ga. and Denise (Ricky) Neath of Fitchburg; 37 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren, four more on the way; a great-great-grandchild due in May; a sister, Mary Elizabeth Yingst of Mesa, Ariz.; three half-sisters, Carol Davis, Dorothy Bauer and Durand and Joyce Muckenfuss of Schenectady, N.Y.; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Ruth Auth and Florence Gustavson; two brothers, George and Albert John Bauer; and daughter-in-law, Jeanne Doyle. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at HOLY MOTHER OF CONSOLATION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 651 N. Main St., Oregon, at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 3, 2007, with Monsignor Gerard Healy and Father Bill Connell con-celebrating. Burial will follow at the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, Oregon. A visitation for family and friends will be held in the gathering area at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Monday. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial Masses for Evelyn or to the charity of the donors choice.
