Obituary

Beetham, Harry George MADISON - Harry George Beetham, age 85, died on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007, at Oak Park Place, Madison. He was born on Dec. 14, 1921, in Spooner, to Robert and Laura (Ode) Beetham. Harry graduated from Lancaster High School in 1940 and attended Wisconsin Institute of Technology for a year and a half. He resided in Lancaster until 1956, then lived in Monona until 1992, and then moved to DeForest. Recently Harry and June moved to Madison. Harry served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1943 until 1946. He married June Habich on Aug. 25, 1946. Harry was the owner/ operator of Capital City Culvert for 45 years. He was a member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church, Monona. Harry was a Boy Scouts volunteer and committee member for 18 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Harry is survived by his wife, June; children, Melinda Schenck of Stoughton, Deborah (Don) Wilson of Baraboo, John (Tina) Beetham of Oregon, Dean Beetham of Hermosa Beach, Calif., Kent (Jean McMannes) Beetham of Monticello, Pamela (Craig Le Beau) Beetham of Appleton, Liesa (Dan) OShaughnessy of Vista, Calif., and Rhonda Beetham of Beaver Dam; 17 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bertha Trafton of Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Jason Schenck; great-grandson, Cameron Hassler; son-in-law, James Schenck; brother, Robert Beetham; sister, Elva Baumgarth; sister-in-law, Ann Beetham; and brothers-in-law, Dr. Harold Trafton and Verlin Baumgarth. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 3, 2007. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2007, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park.
