Ruth Johnson

Johnson, Ruth Jean MADISON Ruth Jean Johnson, age 83, died on Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, at Karmenta Rehabilitation Center. She was born on Nov. 22, 1924, along with her twin brother, Russ Schwab, in St. Paul, Minn., to William and Anna Schwab. Ruth and her husband, Roland, were charter members of St. Stephens Lutheran Church in Monona. Ruth was active in church and served as president of the Wives of Monona Grove Businessmens Club. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Roland R. Johnson; children, Pamela (Bill) Hicks of Charleston, W.V., Peggy (Jim) Riesen of Menomonee Falls, William A. (Lisa) Johnson and Julie (Chuck) Curran, both of Cottage Grove; 10 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; twin brother, Russ (Marlys) Schwab; and sisters, Shirley (Dick) Janssen, Dorothy Johnson, Beverly Brauner, Betty Rinne and Barbara Schwab. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, William Schwab. A memorial service will be held at MONONA OAKS COMMUNITY CHURCH, 6200 Monona Drive, Monona, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007. Visitation will be at the church from noon until the time of the service.
