Lois Laska

Laska, Lois Marie MADISON Lois Marie Laska, age 53, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, at HospiceCare Inc., after a brief battle with cancer. She was born on Oct. 17, 1954, the daughter of the late Robert and Sophie Laska of Menomonee Falls. Lois was employed as an accountant assistant at TDS Telecom since 1979. She was a very special person who always put others first. She wasnt quick to ask for help, but would always offer to help anyone, whether she knew you all of her life or just met you. Lois lived a simple life, never treating herself to modern gadgets, but rather providing for others. She enjoyed working around her yard and spending time up north at the family cottage. Lois is survived by her mother; sister, Linda (Ralph) Hansen of Cedar Grove; brothers, Russ of Sheboygan and Phil (Karin) of Fond du Lac; nephews and nieces, Rob, Eric, Connie, Jamie, Kyle, Tyler, Matthew and Megan; and special friend, Mary Wolter, who Lois considered her sister and part of the family who helped her emotionally and physically during her illness. The family wanted to give a special thank you to all her neighbors, especially Dutch and Marlene VanDyk, as well as the wonderful people at HospiceCare Inc. In addition, Lois (Mom) wanted to make sure that a big thank you went out to all her extended family of co-workers at TDS, especially Jerry Ringlund and Denise Holpin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 3, 2007, with Father Kent Schmitt presiding. Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will be at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Chapel of the Flowers, 13235 W. Capitol Drive, Brookfield, on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007, with a visitation at the cemetery from 11 a.m. until noon. In lieu of flowers, Lois requested that a donation be made to the American Cancer Society or HospiceCare Inc.
