Boettcher, Lydia I. MADISON - Lydia I. Boettcher, age 77, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007, at HospiceCare. She was born on April 28, 1930, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Gustav and Ida Wiesner. Lydia was united in marriage to Charles A. Boettcher on Aug. 3, 1957. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this summer, a milestone that Lydia had looked forward to. Lydia worked as a teachers aide at both Lowell Elementary and Lakeview Elementary schools. She enjoyed her family and the many day trips and adventures they shared in and around Wisconsin. Her grandchildren were very important to her, as she was to them. They have many memories of picnics, road trips, Grandmas songs in German and her wonderful soups. Lydia is survived by her husband, Charles; and their children, Christine (Phil) Beck, Jenifer (Steve) Dyer and Mark Boettcher; and her grandchildren, Caitlyn and Jacob Beck, Stephanie and Hannah Dyer, Brandon Gerber, and Justin Higgins. She is also survived by her sister, Ida (Louis) Habenicht; her brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Geraldine Boettcher; and by all of her nieces, nephews and their families. They meant so much to her. She was preceded in death by parents; and her son, Paul Charles Boettcher. Funeral services will be held at IMMANUEL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1021 Spaight St., Madison, at noon, on Monday, Nov. 19, 2007, with Pastor Charles Werth presiding. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church. Special thanks to the staff at Wisconsin Dialysis, Meriter Hospital and HospiceCare, Inc.
